Doreen Marie Jensen was born August 12, 1958 to Ruth and Harold Jensen in Sandstone. Doreen grew up in Askov with her siblings where she attended school. In 1978, she married the love of her life, Kenny, and had two children. Doreen was an amazing mom and stayed home with her children while they were growing up. In 1991, she obtained her GED which was a huge achievement, and she was very proud of her accomplishment. Her children were just as proud. For many years Doreen was an active member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School. She loved children and teaching Sunday school brought her a lot of joy. When Doreen became a grandma, she and Kenny sold their home in Askov and moved south so she could help care for her grandchildren. The only daycare her grandchildren attended was "Grandma Dee's Daycare" and she was so proud. Her grandchildren meant the world to her, and she was very proud of all of them. In 2018, Kenny and Doreen moved back "home" to Askov to enjoy their retirement. Doreen enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, camping, threshing shows, going for rides on the UTV and shopping with her special friends Karen and Gladys. Doreen passed away unexpectedly on December 15, 2023, with her husband and two kids by her side.

She is survived by her husband: Kenneth Jr.; daughter: Melanie (Mike) Korpi; son: Kenny III (Bonnie) Jensen; grandchildren: Tanner, Aidan, Lily and Kenny IV; siblings: Vonnie (Ray) Groth, Denny (Shari) Jensen, David (Tracy) Jensen, and Leland (Karen) Jensen; and many nieces and nephews and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents Harold (Pat) Jensen and Ruth (Bill) Colton.

There will be a Celebration of Life on December 30, 2023 at the Askov Community Center from 2pm – 6pm.
