Doris Irene Jensrud, 87, of Moose Lake, formerly of Fertile and Duquette, died Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at Oakview Assisted Living, Moose Lake. She was born August 17, 1924 in Crookston to Leonard and Florence (Plante) Solie. Doris was baptized and confirmed at Hafslo Lutheran Church of Fertile and attended rural schools in the Fertile area. Doris was united in marriage to Orville Jensrud on November 25, 1940 in Crookston. They remained in the Fertile area until 1948, at which time they moved to Duluth. In 1958, the family moved to a farm in the Duquette area, where they resided for 22 years. After a move back to Fertile for 4 years, Doris returned to Moose Lake where she remained.
Doris was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church of Fertile. She enjoyed gardening, canning, baking and taking care of her family.

Doris is preceded in death by her husband, Orville Jensrud; son, Dean; daughter Muriel Griffen; infant grandson, Ian; great granddaughter, Dakota; brother, Vernon "Bud"; 2 sisters, Madeline Jagol and Donna Jensrud; daughter-in-law, Rhonda Jensrud.

Doris is survived by 7 sons, Orlen of Fort Worth, TX, Gordon (Sandy) of Tamarack, Leland of Mari Copa, AZ, Leonard (Dawn) of Pine City, Gilbert (Cindy) of Isanti, Earl (Krista) of Cambridge and Douglas (Rachal) of McGregor; 5 daughters, Lorrine (Jerry) McKee of Bennett, CO, Carol (Dennis) Birkholm of Askov, Cynthia (Gary) Dahlen of Sturgeon Lake and Nancy Jensrud of Cambridge; 100 plus, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Walter (Beatrice) Solie and Willard (Donna) Solie; 3 sisters, Margie Howes, Vanna (Roger) Raaen and LaVonne (Merlin) Raaen; many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was on Sunday, December 4, from 4 – 6 PM in Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake and continued Monday, December 5, from 10 AM until the 11 AM service in Oak Lake Lutheran Church, Kerrick.
