Dorothy L. Kalm

Dorothy L. Kalm, 96, Moose Lake, died peacefully on Thursday, August 14, 2014 in Augustana Mercy Health Care Center, Moose Lake. She was born on July 21, 1918 in Bennett, WI to Stanley and Marie Matuseski. The family lived in Denham and later moved to Moose Lake. Dorothy attended Moose Lake High School and was in the first class to graduate in the new school in 1936. She was the oldest graduate from Moose Lake High School during the All Class Reunion in 2014. On January 9, 1943, Dorothy married Walter Kalm in Corvallis, OR. Dorothy worked at several jobs through the years including: Peterson Drug, Moose Lake Florist, and the Moose Lake Coop Store. She also catered and was a well-known seamstress in the area. Dorothy was a very loyal and dedicated member of Holy Family and later Holy Angels Catholic Church where she was currently the oldest parishioner.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter; daughter: Katherine Reimer; son-in-law: Bill Reimer; two brothers: Victor Matuseski and Paul Matuseski; and two sister-in-laws: Ardelle Matuseski and June Matuseski.

Dorothy will be lovingly remembered by her daughter: Karen (Ed) Johnson of Moose Lake; son: Kurt (Amy) Kalm of New York, NY; 7 grandchildren: Jason (Jenny) Johnson; Sarah (Curt) Kracke; Leah (Carl) Freeman; Marlena (Kevin) Calaba; Kori (Scott) Petralia; Lori Reimer, and Rob Reimer; 8 great grandchildren: Owen Johnson, Evelyn Johnson, Dawson Kracke, Sawyer Kracke, Katie Reimer, Robbie Reimer, Amber (Christopher) Diver; and Aaron Petrala; and 7 great great grandchildren: Payton, Zoey, Connor, Colson, Carleigh, Grace, and Max.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be from 10 AM until the 11 AM Memorial Mass on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 in Holy Angels Catholic Church. Inurnment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Moose Lake.
