Dorothy Geraldine Thomas, resident of Moose Lake, died peacefully at the age of 85 on Sunday, August 4 ^th , 2019 in Augustana Mercy Healthcare Center surrounded by her family. She was born in Sturgeon Lake, MN on June 5 ^th , 1934 to Stanley and Mary (Repke) Ketchmark.

Dorothy was raised in the area along with her two sisters and 2 brothers, where they attended school in Sturgeon Lake. She married Richard Thomas on July 7 ^th , 1951 in Moose Lake, MN. They moved to the Twin Cities and made a living for most of their married years, traveling back to Sturgeon Lake every weekend to help on the family farm. Richard passed away in 1984 and Dorothy relocated back to her hometown area. For most of her life, Dorothy was a housewife and a caretaker to many family members and to others who needed her. In her younger years, she loved the winter season for ice fishing and snowmobiling. Dorothy was an avid garage-saler and was known for her meticulously kept lawns, a trait of which she passed down to her nieces. She was a true family woman, with a love for children, especially her great and great-great nieces and nephews whom loved her back equally. Dorothy will be remembered as a helpful, generous, and caring woman.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard; parents, Stanley and Mary; brothers, Richard and Jerry Ketchmark; and sisters, Loretta Kolosky and Delores Keller.

Dorothy will be missed dearly by her nieces, Dody Ockwig, Sheryl Lemke, and Darlene Woog; nieces and nephews, David Kolosky, Jim Kolosky, Dale Kolosky, Lorey Kolosky, Jason Ketchmark, and Bud Dorsey; numerous nieces and nephews from Richard's side of the family; and many great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

A graveside memorial service in memory of Dorothy will be held at 1:30pm on Saturday, August 17 ^th , 2019 in Sunset Memorial Cemetery, Moose Lake. In case of inclement weather, the service will be held at Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home in Moose Lake.
