Douglas L. Heyer, 64, of Willow River, died Thursday, December 1, 2011 in Eau Claire, WI. He was born January 7, 1947 in George, IA to Harvey and Dorothy (Grotewold) Heyer. Douglas was President of the Optimist Club of Minneapolis. He was also site manager of Camp Kitchi-Kanis of Willow River.
Douglas enjoyed fishing and woodworking.

Douglas is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Cheri Heitritter; brother, Dana Heyer.

Douglas is survived by his daughter, Meleah (Kyle) Holbrook of Brainerd; son, Justin (Missy) Norring of Breezy Point; sister, Sandi (Karl) David of Birchwood, WI; 4 grandchildren, Gavin, Josiah, Ashton and Halyn.
