Ed Franko

Ed Franko, 51, Askov, died peacefully on Sunday, June 28, 2015 at his home with his family by his side. He was born on September 23, 1963 in Sandstone to Jerry and Artie Franko. Ed grew up on the family farm in rural Askov and attended Askov High School graduating in 1982. He worked for Carlson Timber and in 1997 started his business with George Swanson called Future Forest, Inc. Ed liked all sports, fishing, camping, playing cards, and watching the History Channel and world news. He truly loved spending time with his family and was known for his great sense of humor and making jokes.

Ed was preceded in death by his mother: Artie Franko and his niece, Jazzy Franko.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Jackie Franko of Askov; his children: Achille Franko of Duluth; Jacob Franko of Duluth; Dakota Franko of Askov; Mackenzie Franko of Askov; Bobbi Jo Danelski of Willow River; and Christopher Good of Willow River; his father: Jerry Franko of Askov; brother: Dave (Tess) Franko of Eden Prairie; sisters: Julie Franko of Askov; Jennifer (Pat Dynes) Franko of Minneapolis; Kathy Franko of Askov; Grandchildren: Zeke & Eve Faber; Adam Beier; and Kylie Rae Good; numerous sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, nieces, nephews; cousins, and friends.

Gathering of family and friends will be from 10 am until the 11 am memorial service on Friday, July 3, 2015 in Church of Victory, Askov. Pastor Marlin Degerstrom will officiate. Honorary Bearers will be Rob Riley, Guy Schaumberg, Christopher Good, Pete Cavagnetto, Rick Peterson, Chris Stone, and George Swanson. Inurnment will be at a later date in Sunnyside Cemetery, Willow River.
