Obituary

Eleanor "Tootie" Dockal, 96, Moose Lake, died peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 in Essentia – St. Mary's Hospital, Duluth.  She was born on October 4, 1928 in Moose Lake to Ernest and Ina Newbloom.  Tootie attended school in Moose Lake and later went to work for Bell Telephone Company.  She came back to Moose Lake and on April 17, 1950, Tootie married John Dockal.  They moved to Seattle, WA and later to Blaine, WA before moving back to Duluth.  In 1959, they moved to Ohio where they lived for 32 years.  After John's death in 1989, Tootie moved back to Moose Lake.  In the early 90's, she began running her restaurant called, "Tooties" in Moose Lake.  Tootie also bought and sold real estate in the town through the years.  She attended the Covenant Church during her life in Moose Lake.  Tootie was a very active member of the Sonshine Closet in Moose Lake and was a garage saleing queen!  She also had a great love for the game of Bingo.

Tootie was preceded in death by her husband, John; son: Mark; grandson: Karel; 2 brothers: Bud Newbloom and Tom Newbloom; and 5 sisters: Lorraine Brown, Marian Folsted, Delores "Scotty" Jusczak, Shirley "Tinny" Lake, and Barbara "Nita" Sobczak.

She will be lovingly remembered by three children: Candyce Hoskins, Cindy Dockal, and Tammy Dockal; 10 grandchildren: Heather, Anderson, Jonathan, Erin, Veronica, Madeline, Julius, Maja, Kady, and John; 12 great grandchildren; 1 great great granddaughter; sister: Joyce "Dolly" Thomsen; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A visitation will be held from 1-3 pm on Saturday, March 15, 2025 in Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake.  During this time, Tootie wanted to have a time of fellowship, beverages, and cookies.  Because of Tootie's love for Bingo, there will be a game of Bingo played in her honor at 3 pm.  The winning game will be a "T" Bingo for her name Tootie and the prize will be a basket of all of Tootie's favorite things compiled by the family.

Cremation will follow the services on Saturday with a private inurnment in Sunnyside Cemetery, Willow River.
