Ellen B. Anderson

Ellen B. Anderson (Schjeldahl), 89, formerly of Sturgeon Lake, died peacefully on Christmas morning in Chisago City, MN.  She was born in Highlandville, Iowa where she lived until the age of 14, after which her family moved to Sturgeon Lake.  Ellen graduated from Willow River High School in 1937.  On October 11, 1941, Ellen married Arnold V. Anderson in Sturgeon Lake.  Over the years, Arnold's work in the construction trades brought them to Wisconsin, Louisiana, Georgia, Maryland, Ontario, Washington, and Texas.  They spent 60 years together on Island Lake.  Ellen was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker.  She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Ellen is preceded in death by brothers: Eric and Ingolf; son: Ronald; and her husband of 64 years, Arnold.

She will be lovingly remembered by her brothers: Ralph (Grace) Schjeldahl of Sturgeon Lake and Bud (Phyllis) Schjeldahl of Redlands, CA; her three daughters: Sharon (Neil Nelson) Layon of Duluth; Donna (Ed) Dahlberg of Boise, ID; and Julie (Paul) Nerothin of Marine on St. Croix; 8 Grandchildren; and 10 Great Grandchildren.

Visitation was held from 10 AM until the 11 AM service on Wednesday, December 31, 2008 in Hope Lutheran Church, Moose Lake.  Burial was in Blomskog Cemetery, Windemere Twp., Pine Co.
