Obituary

Elliott Francis Swenson, 77, of Bruno, passed away Friday, September 19, 2014 in Solvay Hospice House, Duluth. He was born November 30, 1936 in Canby to Ernest and Emma (Hansen) Swenson. Elliott grew up on the family farm until moving to Colorado Springs, CO as a teenager. Elliott worked at Graco in NE Minneapolis. Elliott was united in marriage to Dolores Tubbs on December 5, 1959 in Northfield, Iowa. Elliott and Dolores lived in Zimmerman and Coon Rapids before moving to Bruno in 1971. Elliott cut pulp wood and worked for Corrigan Construction Company and also had a small farm for a number of years. He also restored tractors, auto body work and was a "Jack of all Trades". He was a member of the Bruno City Council and was secretary of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Bruno for 22 years. Elliott was kind hearted and loved animals, especially watching the birds in the morning. He was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather and will be greatly missed.

Elliott is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dolores; granddaughter, Lejen.

Elliott is survived by 7 children, Neil (Jeanette) Swenson of Bruno, Zane (Sheri) Swenson of Bruno, Michelle Collins of Chisago City, Gregory (Jennifer) Swenson of Willow River, Maureen (Bernie) Loew of Bruno, Jeanneane (Matt) Kloss of Medina, OH and Suzanne Swenson of Moose Lake; 13 grandchildren, Jesse, Nikki, Zane, Ronnie, Kyle, Quinn, Abby, Ashley, Wesley, Megan, Jake, Corbin and Cassie; 6 great grandchildren, Brooke, Grady, Ciara, Dane, Jordy and Nikolai.

Visitation will be Wednesday, September 24, 2014 from 5-7 P.M. in St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Bruno and will continue Thursday, September 25, from 3 P.M. until the 4 P.M. Service in the church. Interment will be in Bruno Cemetery, Bruno.
