Esther Ramona Beverly Harp, 88, of Cromwell, passed away October 28, 2021, at the Villa Vista Care Center, Cromwell. Ramona was born in Cromwell on July 7, 1933, to Swan and Aliina Maki. She married her sweetheart, Roger Vernon Harp, on November 26, 1960.
Ramona worked for the US Post Office in Cromwell, starting out as a clerk and retiring as Post Master in 1990. She was a long-time member of Bethany Lutheran Church, and was active in the YOT, Wright Investment Club, and Garden Club.
Ramona was a self-taught organ and piano player. She shared her love of music by playing the organ at Bethany Lutheran Church and the piano at Villa Vista Care Center. Ramona also loved to dance, tend to her flower gardens, read, travel in their motor home, and visit with family and friends. In 1971, she fulfilled a dream of visiting relatives in Finland. She will be remembered for her kind and generous nature and her homemade raspberry biscuit.
Ramona was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Roger; sisters: Maire, Zinnia, and Ebba; and brothers: Melvin and Arne.
Ramona is survived by her three sons: Craig (Margy) of Cromwell, Todd of Lakeland, and Ryan (Mitzi) of Hastings, and her eight beloved grandchildren: Angel, Bryce, Kalee, Tim, Sam, Alex, Cole, and Abbi. Ramona is also survived by a large and loving extended family including numerous nieces, nephews, sister-in-law, and friends.
A very special thanks to the wonderful caregivers at the Villa Vista Care Center, St. Croix Hospice, and to all those who filled Ramona's life with love and friendship.
A visitation to honor Ramona's life will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the 2:00 p.m. Funeral Service, Thursday, November 4, 2021, in Bethany Lutheran Church, Cromwell. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery, Cromwell.
