Frances "Fran" Abrahamson

Fran Abrahamson, 80, Rutledge, died Friday, November 12, 2010 in Sandstone.

She was born in Split Rock Twp., Carlton County to Tony and Anna Katchmark. Fran attended Willow River High School where she was involved in cheerleading and graduated in 1948. On August 21, 1948, Fran married Gordy Abrahamson in Sturgeon Lake. She worked as the Postmaster in Rutledge for over 31 years before retiring. She had attended of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Willow River and belonged to its CCW. Fran also belonged to the Willow River American Legion Auxiliary. She loved to bowl, do bead work, dance, and also sightseeing and traveling. Fran will be remembered as a Mother to many.

Fran is preceded in death by her parents and a sister-in-law: Mary Lou Ketchmark.

She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Gordy; three children: Gweyn (Charlie) Bonnin of the Florida Keys; Jean (Jeff) Kiminski of Rutledge, and Garry (Barbara) Abrahamson of Rutledge; 7 Grandchildren: Pete, Rene, Lisa, Chad, Dawn, Matt, and Jenny; 9 Great Grandchildren: Brittany, Dylan, Patrick, Ahna, Morgan, Madison, Jordan, Dawson, and Michael; and another Great Granddaughter on the way; 8 siblings: Ray (Marion) Katchmark of Minneapolis; Frank (Phyllis) Ketchmark of Wahkon; Irene Berger of Willow River; Pat (Ron) Prachar of Willow River; Butch (Pat) Ketchmark of Garrison; Bob Ketchmark of Rutledge; Dale (Patty) Ketchmark of Maple Grove; and Barb Larson of Sturgeon Lake; two sister-in-laws: Betty Yepma of Bloomington and Vivian Radzak of Moose Lake; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Blessed be the memory of Fran Abrahamson.

A gathering of family and friends was from 10 AM until the 11 AM Memorial Mass on Thursday, November 18, 2010 in Holy Angels Catholic Church, Moose Lake. Father Eamonn Boland was the celebrant. Private family inurnment will be at a later date.
