Obituary

Frances Broten, 93, of Birch Creek Township, died Friday, November 2, 2012 in Augustana Mercy Health Care Center, Moose Lake. She was born March 3, 1919 in Minneapolis to Joseph and Mary Komar. Frances loved the outdoors and was a very hard worker on the farm. She enjoyed canning (her grandkids loved her pickles), making potato sausage, cooking and gardening. Frances worked part time at General Andrews Nursery.

Frances is preceded in death by her parents; 3 grandchildren, Leona Singer, Mike Mitchell and Dennis Larson; 2 brothers, George and infant brother, Albert; 5 sisters, Irene, Bertha, Elsie, Marion and Margaret.

Frances is survived by 6 children, Lenore (Alvin) Schleicher of Sturgeon Lake, Delores (Wally) Mitchell of Grantsburg, WI, Geraldine Youngberg of Barnum, Phyllis (Gilbert) Motz of North Branch, Audrey Cegla of Sturgeon Lake and Marvin Broten of Sturgeon Lake; 13 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; 2 sister, Bernice Setsvold of Minneapolis and Lorraine Schmidt of Little Falls; many nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday, November 6, from 5 to 7 PM in Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake and will continue Wednesday, November 7, from 10 AM until the 11 AM Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Angles Catholic Church, Moose Lake.
