Fredrick Henry Edwin Steuck

Fredrick Henry Edwin Steuck, 93, Long Prairie, died peacefully on Sunday, February 28, 2016 in Pine Medical Health Care Center, Sandstone, MN.

He was born on August 27, 1922 in Burnhamville Township, Todd County to Awald and Wilhelmina Steuck. Fredrick was baptized at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Long Prairie on September 17, 1922 and he was later confirmed at the church on May 9, 1937. Fredrick received his diploma from the 8th grade on June 30, 1938 from District #52 in Todd County. He was an Army Veteran serving during WWII. Fredrick farmed through the years and also worked at Long Prairie Creamery and bottled milk. He later worked as a janitor for the Todd County Courthouse until he retired. Fredrick loved to fish and took great pride in his beautiful home, yard, and flower beds. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Long Prairie and served on various boards over the years at Trinity. Fredrick was also a member of the American Legion in Long Prairie and the VFW Post #1140 in Long Prairie.


Fredrick was preceded in death by his loving wife, Walda; brothers; Reinhold, Reuben, Herbert, & Hubert; and sisters: Ruth, Esther, & Wilhelmina.

He will be lovingly remembered by two daughters: Vicki Lynn Pfeiffer and husband Alan of Auburn, WA and Starlet Noree Lawin and husband Rodney of Sandstone; brother: Wally Steuck of Crosby, MN; sister: Mildred Dempsey of Long Prairie; grandchildren: Melissa Joy Fuehrer (Steve), Andrea Dawn Llapitan (Brian); Jessica Lee Walther (Steve), and Reginald Fredrick Lawin (Kara); great grandchildren: Jacob Michael Walther (Briana), Jack Matthew Walther, Shelby Star Lawin, Riley Paige Lawin, and Max Henry Alan Fuehrer; great great grandchildren: Austin Michael Walther and Maya Waby.

Visitation will be from 10 am until the 11 am service on Friday, March 4, 2016 in Trinity Lutheran Church, Long Prairie. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Long Prairie.

Memorials are preferred.
