Gene L. Jahnz, age 74, of Kettle River, MN, passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2018, at his home. He was born in Fairmont, MN to Lester and Viola Jahnz. As a child his family moved to the Farmington, MN area where he lived for many years. Gene joined the Navy and served as an aviation electrician aboard aircraft carriers. After service Gene worked as a maintenance mechanic at Brockway Glass Co. in Rosemount, MN for 21 years and then at Stampings of Minnesota in Lakeville, MN for another 21years. After retirement he and his wife Lorraine moved "up north" to Kettle River where they enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and the quiet life in the back woods.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents, and wife Lorraine. He is survived by sons Mark (Kristin)

Jahnz and David Enright; daughters Jodie Fisher and Jessica (Darren) Brunn; brothers Dale (Lois)

Jahnz, Gary Jahnz and friend Marcy, and Joe Jahnz and friend Linda; and 8 grandchildren.

A celebration luncheon to honor Gene's life will be held on November 3, 2018  from 1pm to 4pm at the Empire Township Public Works Building, 2577 Vermillion River Trial, Farmington, MN.
