Gerald Walker Ellsworth, 85, of Moose Lake, passed away Friday, January 24, 2014 in Oakview Assisted Living, Moose Lake. He was born October 6, 1928 in Wayne County, Iowa to David and Louise (Walker) Ellsworth. Gerald was an Army Veteran who served during the Korean Conflict. Gerald was united in marriage to Mary Ellen Anderson on March 2, 1957 in Cloquet. Gerald and Mary Ellen lived in the Moose Lake area where he farmed and was employed at Conwed/USG as an Environmental Lab Technician. Gerald was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, hunting (especially deer hunting) and was an expert shot. Gerald especially enjoyed time with his family.
Gerald is preceded in death by his parents.
Gerald is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Mary Ellen Ellsworth; 2 daughters, Gayle (Garret) Bitker and Joyce (Martin) Zincke; 4 grandchildren, Gwen, Grace, Kyle and Greta; 3 sisters, Nadine Birlingmair, Virginia Paton and Bonnie Lou Schroeder; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Tuesday, January 28, from 5 to 7 PM in Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake and will continue Wednesday, January 29, from 10 AM until the 11 AM Service in Barnum Community United Methodist Church, Barnum.
