Gerald "Whiz" Wayne Oswald, 72, of Moose Lake, died Saturday, September 22, 2012 in Mercy Hospital, Moose Lake. Gerald was born January 14, 1940 in Fertile to Armand and Sally (Peterson) Oswald. Gerald graduated from Fertile High School in 1957. Gerald was a proud Veteran of the United States Marine Corps. "Semper Fi". After serving in the Marines, Gerald attended the University of Minnesota, earning an Associate Degree. Gerald was united in marriage to Helen Moilanen-Roos on October 20, 1962 in Moose Lake. Gerald owned and operated Roos Motors of Moose Lake from 1965-2009. He loved reading about history, talking politics, playing cards, golfing, fishing, bowling and especially spending time with his family and friends.

Gerald is preceded in death by his father, Armand Oswald.

Gerald is survived by his loving wife, Helen of Moose Lake; mother, Sally Hayes of Brainerd; 3 children, Cynthia Oswald of Blaine, Steven (Heidi) Oswald of Valdez, AK and Ronald Oswald of Moose Lake; 7 grandchildren, Cassondra Leverty, Kelsey Leverty, Allison Leverty, Alexis Oswald, Anakin Oswald, Aila Oswald and Tynan Oswald; 1 great great grandchild, Geno Selgado; 1 brother, Dennis Oswald of Brainerd.
