Geraldine "Geri" Youngberg, 85, Barnum, died peacefully on Monday, April 6, 2026 at New Perspective Senior Living in Barnum.  She was born in Minneapolis on May 24, 1940 to Renhard and Frances Broten.  Geri moved to Denham where she grew up and learned her hard work ethic on the family dairy farm.  She attended school in Willow River.  On April 25, 1959, Geri married Dale Youngberg and to this union 6 children were born.  She lived in Willow River and later moved to Barnum.  Geri worked for over 50 years for the State of Minnesota at General Andrews Nursery in Willow River.  She worked for a short time as a seasonal worker at Marshall's Strawberry Farm.  Geri also bartended for many decades at several bars in the area including 40 years at the Corral Bar in Willow River and other bars including O'Brien's Hideaway Bar, Annie's, and the Embassy.  Geri loved socializing with people, playing cards, finding a good pull tab box, making pickles, gardening, and trying her luck at Bingo.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Renhard and Frances Broten and her special friend: Benny Dobosenski.

She will be lovingly remembered by her 6 children: Jerome (Marilyn) Youngberg; Darrell (Lisa) Youngberg; David Youngberg; Janelle (Joe) Alatorre; Leonard Youngberg; and Michelle (Bubba) Youngberg; 14 grandchildren: Terry, Justin, Amanda, Kristin, Michael, Melissa, Lindsay, Chelsey, Charles, Kara, Brady, Devlin, Cheyanne, and Cody; 12 great grandchildren: siblings: Lenore Schleicher; Delores Mitchell; Phyllis Motz; Audrey Cegla; Marvin Broten; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will be from 5-7 pm on Thursday, April 16, 2026 in Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake.  A service will be held on Friday, April 17, 2026 at 11 am in Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake with a visitation one hour prior to the service.  Lunch will follow the service in the funeral home social hall.  Burial will be at 2 pm Friday, April 17, 2026 in St. Isidore's Catholic Cemetery.
