Gertrude (Gresczyk) Maniak, 91, of Kettle River passed away into the loving arms of our Lord on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 in Augustana Mercy Health Care Center, Moose Lake. She was born March 25, 1923 in Split Rock Township to Tony and Eleanor (Filipiak) Gresczyk. Gertie was united in marriage to Harry Maniak on August 26, 1944 in Split Rock Township. Gertie was a homemaker and farmed with her husband for many many years. She was a member and organist for St. Joseph's Catholic Church for over 70 years as well as a member of the Rosary Society. Gertie was also a member of Star Club Ladies Guild and was a Fire Warden for over 50 years. She loved gardening vegetables and flowers, crocheting, embroidery, baking and doing, doing, doing for her family.

Gertie is preceded in death by her husband, Harry; her parents; sisters, Veronica Taylor, Barbara Gresczyk, Mary Ann Gresczyk, Irene Balut and Martha Wallace; brothers, Tony Gresczyk, Jr, and Clem Gresczyk.

Gertie is survived by sons, John (Shirley) Maniak and Steve (JoAnn) Maniak; daughter, Cathy (Dale) Herzog; grandchildren, Jeremy (Yvete) Maniak, David (Cheri) Maniak, Lisa (Brian) Kittleson, Scott (Erin) Maniak, Brian (Dawn) Herzog, Brad (Karin) Herzog and Bill (Stacie) Herzog; great grandchildren, Lainey, Leia and Leo Maniak, Addie and Asher Maniak, Abby and Libby Kittleson, Logan and Tanner Herzog, Madi and Hailie Herzog and Lily, Brooke and Joey Herzog; many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held Friday, July 18, from 5 PM to 7 PM with a Rosary Service at 6:30 PM in Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake and will continue Saturday, July 19 from 9 AM until the 10 AM Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Split Rock Township.
