Hannah M. (Eskuri) Matthew, 93, of Moose Lake, formerly of Kettle River, passed away Friday, May 6, 2016 in Augustana Mercy Health Care Center, Moose Lake. She was born March 14, 1923 in Kettle River to Signe and Jacob Eskuri and lived on a farm in Kettle River until she was united in marriage to Elmer "Matt" Matthew on April 25, 1943 in Kettle River. Hannah and Matt raised their 4 children: David, John, Susie and Paul in Hopkins. Hannah worked at Glen Lake Sanitarium, Oscar Meyer and Minneapolis Moline prior to her and Matt purchasing a Toyota dealership in 1970. Subsequently they bought their first Karmelkorn franchise at Northtown Shopping Center in Blaine. Later they added stores at Maplewood Mall, Ridgedale Shopping Center, Austin and St. Cloud. She worked for a doctor's office in St. Cloud before she retired in 1983. Hannah loved to cook and often invited family and friends to their home for a delicious meal. She decorated wedding cakes but her specialty was apple pie.

Hannah is preceded in death by her true love, Matt (Elmer) Matthew; son, John Matthew; brothers, Bill, Otto, Walter, Paul and Oscar Eskuri; sisters, Helmi Eskuri and Aili Antila.

Hannah is survived by her children, David (Kathy) Matthew, Susie Allard and Paul (Cindi) Matthew; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Rob) Goetz, Andrew (Malou) Matthew, Sarah (Alex) Rinn, Becky (Sean) Hoskins, James (Tina) Allard, Tadd Matthew, Tracy Matthew; 11 great grandchildren; sisters, Helen Sutherland and Lee Hassinger; brothers, Fred (Ruth) Eskuri and Donnie (Sue) Eskuri.

Visitation will be Friday, May 13, from 1 PM until the 2 PM Service in Evangelical Covenant Church, Moose Lake.

Interment will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis.
