Harry John Berube, 81, of Finlayson, passed away Thursday, August 18, 2016 in Augustana Mercy Health Care Center, Moose Lake. He was born January 26, 1935 in Limestone, ME to Thomas and Ida (Fontaine) Berube. Harry is a veteran of The United States Air Force, serving in both the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War. During this time, Harry earned the Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Longevity Service Award, Korean Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Medal, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Medal, United Nations Service Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal. Harry was united in marriage to Katsuko "Betty" Tanaka on October 15, 1957 in Tokyo, Japan. Harry farmed for many years and also worked at Luoma's Egg Farm in Finlayson. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and mowing his yard on the riding lawn mower.
Harry is preceded in death by his parents; 6 brothers and sisters.
Harry is survived by his loving wife, Katsuko "Betty" Berube of Finlayson; son, Greg Berube of Pinon Hills, CA; 2 grandchildren, Lindsey and Tayler Berube of Pinon Hills, CA; 3 brothers and 1 sister.
Visitation will be Tuesday, August 23, from 10 AM until the 11 AM Service in Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake.
Interment with full military honors will be Wednesday, August 24 at Noon in Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis.
