Harry A. Bloom, 75, Nickerson, died peacefully on Thursday, November 23, 2023 at his home surrounded by the people he loved.  Harry was born on November 6, 1948 in Nickerson to Rudolph and Anna Bloom.  He grew up in Nickerson and attended Askov High School graduating in 1966.  Harry served his country in the United States Army for 2 years.  On November 4, 1972, Harry married Marilyn Peck in Watertown, South Dakota.  They lived in Nickerson.  Harry worked construction through the years and was a loyal member to Local 1091 for over 48 years.  Harry also served on the Nickerson Twp. Board as a supervisor through the years.  He loved hunting, fishing, trapping, 4-wheeling, and "Jeeping".  Harry had a tremendous love for the great outdoors.  He also loved building things and helping whoever needed a hand.  Harry will long be remembered for being kind, honest, and a loyal friend.

He was preceded in death by his wife: Marilyn; parents: Rudolph and Anna Bloom; brothers: Ray Bloom, Ralph Bloom, Marvin Bloom, and Walter Bloom; sister: Randy VanGuilder; and a great grandson: Malekai.

Harry will be lovingly remembered by his three sons: Randy (Jeanette) Riley of Sandstone; Robert (Sonia) Riley of Finlayson; and Eric Bloom of Milford, KS; grandchildren: Jamie, Dan, Vanessa, Melanie, Jonathan, and Andrew; great grandchildren: Liam, Joel, Axel, Teagan, Weston, Lucia, DJ, and Rhett; sisters: Ann (Glen) Johnson, Eva Makela, Linda (Rick) Hovila, and Karen (Jeff) Degerstrom; brothers: Rick Bloom, Loren Bloom, and Lyle (Diane) Bloom; and his very special friend: Linda Hatleli Andrews.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be from 10 am until the 11 am Memorial Service on Thursday, November 30, 2023 in Oak Lake Lutheran Church, Kerrick.  Inurnment will follow at Oak Lake Community Cemetery, Kerrick.
