Obituary

Hazel J. Grazin, 97, Sturgeon Lake, died Saturday, September 15, 2018 in Elderwood of Hinckley.  She was born on November 30, 1920 in International Falls, MN to Ole and Laura Sandsmark.  Hazel lived in Fairland where she attended school and later attended at Indus School.  She farmed with her family and worked as a cook at Island View Lodge and at a logging camp at Red Lake during the winter months.  On November 24, 1957, Hazel married Raymond Grazin in Lowman, MN.  They lived in Birchdale and Hazel worked in a fire tower.  In 1963, Hazel and Ray moved to Willow River where they lived until moving to Sturgeon Lake in 1975.  She was a seasonal worker at General Andrews Nursery.  Hazel enjoyed knitting and being in Fellowship with God.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray in 2012; one brother: Edward Sandsmark; and three sisters: Helen Skov, Thelma Crosby, and Clara Ostlund.

Hazel will be lovingly remembered by her nieces, nephews, and the many dear friends who visited and cared for her through the years.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 21, 2018 at 11 am in Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake.  Burial will follow in Sturgeon Lake City Cemetery.
