Helen E. Peterson, 95, of Moose Lake, died Sunday, February 19, 2012 in Oakview Assisted Living, Moose Lake. She was born April 13, 1916 in Kettle River to Alex and Mary (Sarri) Carlson. Helen grew up and attended school in Kettle River. Helen was united in marriage to Roy Peterson on January 26, 1935 in Moose Lake. Helen and Roy lived on the family farm in Silver Township until moving to Moose Lake in 1965. Helen cleaned apartments at the Manors as well as other senior citizens throughout the years. Helen also babysat. She was a member of Evangelical Covenant Church of Moose Lake.

Helen is preceded in death by her husband, Roy; daughter, Virginia "Ginny" Peterson; 4 sisters, Jenny Wilman, Sally Kohs, Lillian Black and Mae O'Kronglis; 1 brother, Fred Carlson; 5 brothers-in-law; 1 sister-in-law.

Helen is survived by 2 children, Tony (Joan) Peterson of Warroad and Elaine (Wayne) Myers of Billings, MT; 1 brother, Edward Carlson of Cloquet; sister-in-law, Catherine Carlson of Baxter; 4 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; special niece, Lisa Mikrot of Kettle River.

Visitation was on Friday, February 24, from Noon until the 1 PM Service in Evangelical Covenant Church, Moose Lake. Interment was in Sunset Memorial Cemetery, Moose Lake.

Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers.
