Henrietta "Etta" Johanna Hanson, 100, of Silver Township, passed away Monday, April 11, 2016 in Augustana Mercy Health Care Center, Moose Lake. She was born September 27, 1915 in Leigh, NE to Henry and Minnie (Abels) Bade. Etta grew up and attended school in Leigh, graduating from Leigh High School. She moved with her family to Bruno in 1942. Etta worked at Diamond Match in Cloquet and Red Owl in Moose Lake. Etta and her sister, Margaret also farmed west of Moose Lake before she was married. Etta was united in marriage to Paul Hanson on March 11, 1950 in Moose Lake. She and Paul then moved to Silver Township where they farmed on the family farm. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, Hope Lutheran Busy Bees and Ladies Aid. Etta enjoyed quilting and other needle work. She also enjoyed gardening and won many awards at the Carlton County Fair.
Etta is preceded in death by her husband, Paul; her parents; 5 brothers, Carl, Earl, Melvin, Clarence and Leonard Bade; 1 sister, Margaret Randall; daughter-in-law, Jackie Hanson.
Etta is survived by 2 sons, Roger (Terri) Hanson of Littlefork and Roland (Judy Ellison) Hanson of Chisholm; granddaughter, Holly (Aaron) Peterson of Cloquet; 2 great grandchildren, Jackson and Eli Peterson and her special friends, The Larson Family.
Visitation will be Saturday, April 16, from 10 AM until the 11 AM Service in Hope Lutheran Church, Moose Lake. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Moose Lake.
