Hermina "Luxy" Zuk

Hermina "Luxy" Zuk, 88, Sturgeon Lake, died peacefully on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at Kenwood Assisted Living in Moose Lake.  She was born on November 26, 1929 in Winsted, MN to Bernard and Helena Laxen.  Luxy grew up in the Winsted area and attended Holy Trinity High School.  She later attended nursing school.  Luxy worked for Dr. Moe in Moose Lake prior to her marriage to Ted Zuk on April 25, 1953.  Ted and Luxy farmed through the years and Luxy worked for a short time at Willow River Poultry.  Luxy also worked for over 35 years at Mercy Health Care Center, Moose Lake.  She loved listening to her family's polka band, throwing horseshoes at the Embassy, deer hunting, fishing, baling hay, picking blueberries, watching the MN Twins and the MN Vikings, and making awesome pies and fudge.  Luxy truly loved her church.

The family would like to truly thank the staff and her friends at Kenwood Assisted Living for their care and companionship they gave Luxy during her stay.  They also want to thank Dr. Stottler for her wonderful care of Luxy through the years.

Luxy was preceded in death by her husband, Ted in 2008; great grandson: Jackson Zuk; 3 brothers: Clarence, Robert, and Leonard; and a sister: Margie.

She will be lovingly remembered by her 4 children: Bernard (Cheryl) of Sturgeon Lake; Dennis (Deanne) of Willow River; Dale (Pat) of Sturgeon Lake; and Ron (Cindy) of Sturgeon Lake; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and two sisters: Rosalie (Dick) Hesse of Lake Elmo and Diana (Roger) Thompson of Winsted.

Rosary will be at 9 am on Saturday, July 21, 2018 in Holy Angels Catholic Church, Moose Lake.  A Memorial Visitation will follow from 9:30 am until the Memorial Mass at 11 am in Holy Angels Catholic Church, Moose Lake.  Lunch will follow Mass.  Following the luncheon, there will be a procession to St. Isidore's Catholic Cemetery for inurnment.
