Hulda L. Keeler
Hulda L. Keeler, 93, West St. Paul, died Thursday, February 23, 2012 in Sholom Home, St. Paul. She was born on April 21, 1918 in Kettle River to Andrew and Maria (Mansikka) Newman. Hulda grew up in the Kettle River area and was a Survivor of the 1918 Fire. She graduated from Barnum High School and worked in the Kettle River area. During WWII, Hulda worked for the war effort at the St. Paul Airport and helped install wiring in computer components for the B-24 planes. She later worked for Unisys retiring after 30 years of employment.
Hulda was a very positive person whom always had a smile on her face and was very easy to get along with. She loved reading the newspaper.
Hulda was preceded in death by her son: Terry Keeler; an infant daughter; four sisters: Mable Anderson, Alma Price, Violette Wiggins, and Pearl Newman; and two brothers: Walter Newman and Walfred Newman.
She will be lovingly remembered by her three grandchildren: Yvette Keeler of St. Paul; Marie (Ernie) Strempke of Brooklyn Park; and Andrew (Becky) Keeler of Farmington; five great grandchildren: Terry, Drew, Lilly, Dakota, and Jace; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held from 10 am until the 11 am funeral service on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 in Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake. Burial was in Holy Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Kettle River.
