Ida M. ("Penny") Gassert, 92, of Moose Lake, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 9, 2016 in Kenwood Place, Moose Lake. She was born April 18, 1924 in Hartford, SD to Arthur and Olive (Auer) Crippen. Penny was united in marriage to Howard Gassert on August 26, 1948 in Moose Lake where they raised a family. Penny was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church, Moose Lake.

Penny is preceded in death by her husband, Howard; her parents; an infant daughter, Monica Mary, and one sibling.

Penny is survived by sons, John (Deborah) of Cloquet, James (Maureen) and Jerome (Mary Beth Davidson), both of Moose Lake, Paul (Mona Bureau) of Cloquet , Peter (Elizabeth) and Mark, both of Moose Lake; daughters Mary (Robert) Peick of Minneapolis, Terese Gassert of Cloquet and Monica (Edward) Keyport of Shoreview; grandchildren Stephanie, Anne, Ann Marie, Andrew, Emily, Anthony, Michael, Lance, Sarah, Nicholas, Christopher, Stephen, Michael, and Cassandra; great-grandchildren Archie, Louie, Meredith, Thomas, Colbie, Everlie, and Wyatt.

Visitation will be Friday, July 15 from 10 AM until the 11 AM Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Angels Catholic Church, Moose Lake. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery, Moose Lake.
