Obituary

Jacob "Jake" Louis Kiminski, age 83, lifelong resident of Denham, MN died on Friday, April 26 th , 2019 at Augustana Mercy Healthcare Center in Moose Lake. He was born on November 1 st , 1935 on the family farm in Birch Creek Township to Martin and Rose (Zabasky) Kiminski.

He married Shirley Cisar on August 14, 1954 in Willow River. They lived in Duluth for a few years and moved to the family farm in 1958. They dairy farmed for almost thirty years and then raised beef cattle. They were married for 46 years. They loved to snowmobile with Bobby and Sandy Cisar early on. Jacob and Shirley enjoyed fishing and camping together in their later years. Jacob continued to ride snowmobile his whole life and snowmobiled with his great grandchildren this past February.

Jacob would tell people he had three jobs through life; a Logger, a Farmer, and a Milk Hauler for Land O'Lakes in Moose Lake. He was a very hard worker. Jacob liked running his sawmill in his early years. Logging was his favorite by far and he referred to his hands as "logging claws."  He loved hunting, fishing and riding four wheeler with his dog, Brandy. Rarely could you have a conversation with Jacob that did not get around to deer hunting and stay on that subject for the remainder of the conversation. He loved to dance the polka, play harmonica and play smear for hours. Jacob loved eagles so much and his home was decorated with eagles in every room.

Jake was preceded in death by wife, Shirley; his sons: Lynn and Timothy; his parents, Martin and Rose Kiminski; six sisters: Josephine, Mary, Victoria, Margaret, Rosie and Pauline; and four brothers: Valentine, Louie, Albert, and Ray.

Jacob will be remembered by his daughter and son in law, Dana and Bill Carlson; daughter-in-law, Elaine Kiminski and six grandkids; Clint (Lisa), Krista (Joe), Rachel, Janelle, Bonnie, Jacob and 2 great-grandchildren: Lake and Vallie; sister, Barbara (Stanley) Kwapick and numerous nieces and nephews.
