James Allan Dahlen, age 72, of Sandstone, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2026. He was born on June 10, 1954, in Moose Lake, Minnesota, to Ervin and Dolores (MacDonald) Dahlen. A longtime resident of Sandstone, James was a beloved son, brother, brother-in-law, and uncle who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

James was a hardworking man who dedicated much of his life to helping his family and community. He assisted his father on the family farm where he grew up, developing a strong work ethic and taking great pride in everything, he did. For a decade, James worked alongside Mr. Hankes at Moose Lake State Hospital, whose kind and caring spirit made a lasting impression. Before retiring, he was employed by Phase program doing a variety of different jobs. He also had his own snow removal and lawn services.

James is survived by his siblings, Gary (Cynthia) Dahlen of Sturgeon Lake; Joanne (Richard) Searl of Litchfield; Sandra (Robert) Ebert of Roseville; Ralph (Noelle) Dahlen of Hugo; and Linda (Bo) Arbogast of Oberlin, Ohio; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Hamlin Hansen Kosloski Funeral Home.

An additional visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service, beginning at 10:00 AM on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at Oak Lake Lutheran Church. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM.

Following the luncheon, the family will gather for a committal service at Blomskog Cemetery at 1:30 PM.
