James Ellis, age 88, resident of Sturgeon Lake, MN died peacefully in Waterview Shores of Two Harbors on Saturday, June 22 ^nd , 2019. He was born in Blue Earth, MN on September 6 ^th , 1930 to Roy and Veronica Ellis.

James completed the 3 ^rd grade before his parents, brother, and he became migrant workers; moving around from state to state in the handmade trailer his father built. Once he was of age, James served honorably in the United States Navy. He was a proud Veteran of our country, often telling his children that he should have re-enlisted if he could have because it was the best thing he had ever done. James was an independent man who never bothered others for help, and he loved his family fiercely.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Veronica; his beloved wife, Geneva; daughter, Delores; and son, Leroy.

James's memory will be cherished by his son, Jerry, of Sturgeon Lake and his daughter, Janice, of Kansas City, MO.
