James "Leroy" Ellis, 60, of Sturgeon Lake, passed away Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at his home. He was born May 1, 1953 in Asheboro, North Carolina to James and Geneva (Smith) Ellis. Leroy was united in marriage to Joanne Rose Waldera on August 14, 1971 in Moose Lake. Leroy was an over the road truck driver for Bay and Bay Trucking. He enjoyed woodworking, drawing, fishing, hunting and camping.

Leroy is preceded in death by his mother, Geneva and 1 sister, Dee Dee Revord.

Leroy is survived by his loving wife, Joanne Rose Ellis of Sturgeon Lake; his father, James Richard Ellis of Sturgeon Lake; 2 sons, Richard (Mellissa Deacon) of Barron, WI and Robert (Jayme) Ellis of Eleva, WI; 1 daughter, Mary Jo (Pete) Rindal of Eau Claire, WI; 7 grandchildren, Kevin and Katlyn Deetz, Dominic Ellis, Derric, Danielle and Devin Becker and Brady Deacon; 1 brother, Jerry (Doreen) Ellis of Anoka; 1 sister, Janice Ellis of Kansas City, MO; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.
