Jeanette Marie Marten, 79, formerly of Park Falls, WI, currently of Moose Lake, MN, died peacefully in Moose Lake Village, Moose Lake on Monday, January 31 ^st , 2022. She was born on March 11 ^th , 1942 in Park Falls, WI, the daughter of Ralph and Frances (Roselle) Symonik.

Jeanette grew up in Fifield, WI and attended school there, graduating from Fifield High School. She went to work as a waitress at Hick's Landing for three years. She then married Robert Marten on August 16 ^th , 1962 in Fifield, WI. The couple moved to Eau Claire, WI and she worked as a waitress at a supper club there before they moved to Muskego, WI. Jeanette worked for numerous supper clubs in the Milwaukee area. After moving around Wisconsin a couple more times, they returned to Park Falls in 1971. Jeanette went to work at Town and Country Supper Club, then Jonny's Supper Club, eventually working her way up to becoming a chef. After a long and passionate career in the restaurant industry, Jeanette retired in 2008. In all the spare time retirement brought her, she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, bird watching, and was an avid reader. Throughout her life, she enjoyed travelling and seeing the sights of Europe, the Caribbean, and Central America.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, in 2014; and her parents.

Jeannette is survived by her son, Arnold (Pam) Marten; grandchildren, Jeremie, Brandon, Zachary, and Nicholas; 6 great-grandchildren; and brothers, Thomas (Kathy) and Frank (Barb) Symonik.

Inurnment will take place in NOLA Cemetery in the spring.
