Jenny
Benkoski
August 1, 1922 – March 4, 2019
Jenny M. Benkoski, 96, Moose Lake, formerly of Saginaw, died peacefully on Monday, March 4, 2019 in Augustana Mercy Health Care Center, Moose Lake. Jenny was born on August 1, 1922 in Duluth and lived most of her life in Saginaw where she attended school through the 8 th grade. She later graduated from Brookston High School. Her parents owned and operated a dairy farm named Hillendale Farm in Saginaw and Jenny and her brothers helped run the family business and delivered milk to much of Duluth and Proctor. After high school, Jenny continued to help with the dairy business and farm especially during the war. Because help became quite hard to find, the family sold the business to Bay View Dairy of Duluth. Jenny then started working at the Saginaw Store owned and operated by Frank Benkoski whom she later married on February 14, 1965 in Deer River, MN. They continued to successfully run the Saginaw Store until 1969 when they sold and returned to Jenny's farm to retire. In 1988, they sold the farm and moved to their Island Lake Home near Moose Lake. Jenny and Frank spent many winters in Palm Bay, FL. Jenny loved to travel and truly held the trip to Hawaii with her neighbor, Verna Kubis, close to her heart. Jenny also loved to golf, entertain friends, going out to eat, keep in touch with her many friends, ski, and polka.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Maren; father, John; step mother, Dagny; brothers: Arne and Eyvind; sister: Signe; and her husband, Frank.
Jenny will be lovingly remembered by her nieces, nephew, and many friends.
