Obituary

Jerin "Bogie" Bogenholm, 82, Moose Lake, went to his heavenly home on Saturday, January 13, 2024.  He was born on September 24, 1941 in Moose Lake to Walter and Lillian Bogenholm.  Jerry grew up in Moose Lake and graduated from Moose Lake High School in 1960.  During his teenage years and young adult life, Jerry helped at the family business of Nemadji Tile.  He attended college in Rochester prior to serving in the United States Army.  While proudly serving his country, Jerry was a 2nd Lieutenant, serving as a Tank Commander, and had been stationed in Alaska during the Vietnam War.  On May 14, 1966, Jerry married Joyce Dahlquist in Moose Lake.  Jerry began working as a police officer in Cambridge and shortly began a 28 year career with the Moose Lake Police Department, retiring in 1996.  He had an incredible Faith, and was a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church of Moose Lake. Additionally, he was a Master Mason at Solomons Lodge #286.  Jerry loved dogs, was an avid amateur gunsmith, liked to re-load ammo, taught gun safety, did auto body work, and enjoyed being an outdoorsman.  He loved his family, especially his grandchildren, and was devoted to attending their concerts and sporting events.  He was quick to laugh and even quicker to smile, and never took himself too seriously.  Jerry will be long remembered for his generosity and always benevolently serving humanity.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents: Walter and Lillian Bogenholm and siblings: Russell Bogenholm, Robert Bogenholm, Betty Olsen, and Dorothy Wahlstrom.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Joyce; three children: Garin "Chip" (Tana)  Bogenholm; Berri (Steven) Reiser; and Bryce (Julie) Bogenholm; and eight grandchildren: Teague (Brooke) Bogenholm, Liam Bogenholm, Lilly (Jarrod) Reiser, Aaron Reiser, William Reiser, Olivia Bogenholm, Annaka Bogenholm, and Blake Bogenholm.

A private burial will be held in Blomskog Cemetery prior to the service.  A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at 1 pm in the Evangelical Covenant Church, Moose Lake, followed by Military Honors.  A light luncheon will follow Military Honors.  A Gathering of Family and Friends will be one hour prior to the service.
