Jo Earle Cowart

Jo Earle Cowart, 78, Finlayson, entered Heaven peacefully Monday, February 12, 2018, her birthday.  Jo was born on February 12, 1940 in Gadsden, Alabama to Wesley and Gwen Barton, their first of three children, where she was raised until fifth grade.  Jo then moved to Leesburg, FL with her parents where she graduated from Mount Dora Bible School and met her husband, Clyde.  They were married on November 27, 1959 in Leesburg where they lived through the years with their two children, Tina and Ed.  Jo worked at Scotty's Wholesale Lumber as an office administrator for many years, retiring in 1995.  She was also very involved at South 14 th St. Church of Christ in Leesburg where she truly lived for socializing and singing at church.  Jo and Clyde were avid bowlers and card players.   In 1995, she moved to Finlayson with her daughter and two oldest grandchildren.  She loved being around her family, especially helping babysit her grandchildren and great granddaughter.  Jo loved gardening, quilting, and attending many shows at Midwest Country in Sandstone.  She had just lately mastered Facebook & Candy Crush on her iPad, which she would often share with her great granddaughter, Emma.

Jo was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde; brother: Ronald Barton; and her parents: Wesley and Gwen Barton.

She will be lovingly remembered by her two children: Tina Killen and Ed (Natalie) Cowart both of Finlayson; four grandchildren: Tyler (Annie) Cowart of San Diego, CA, Troy Cowart of Finlayson, Niki (Jack) Koski of Chicago City, MN, and Christopher Killen of Finlayson; great granddaughter: Emma Koski; and a sister: Susan Snow of Clarksville, GA.

Visitation will be Friday, February 16, 2018 from 4 PM until the 6 PM Celebration of Life Service in Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake.  Burial will be in Finnish Lutheran Cemetery, Finlayson.
