Joseph John Jamros, II
Joseph John Jamros, II, 94, Silver Bay, formerly of Sturgeon Lake and Cicero, Illinois, died on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 in Minnesota Veterans Home, Silver Bay. He was born on March 15, 1918 in Cicero, Illinois to Joseph and Maria Jamros. Joseph graduated from Morton High School in Cicero. In 1943, he entered the United State Army and was a World War II Veteran whom had fought at Normandy. He was awarded two Purple Hearts and a Silver Star and had achieved the ranking of Second Lieutenant before his Honorable Discharge in 1945. On May 10, 1947, Joseph married Marcella Milczarek in St. Isidore's Catholic Church, Sturgeon Lake. They lived in Illinois where Joseph worked as a Human Resource Director. After retiring, Joseph and Marcella moved to Sturgeon Lake and later to Florida. In 2008, Joseph moved to the Minnesota Veterans Home in Silver Bay.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Marcella in 2005; three brothers: Walter, Tony, and John; and three sisters: Vicki, Mary, and Irene.
Joseph will be lovingly remembered by his son: Joseph (Susan) Jamros III of Moose Lake; two grandchildren: Joseph Jamros IV and Brian (Ashley) Jamros; his first great grandchild due in May 2013; and his sister: Sally McNulty of Neenah, WI.
A Memorial Service to Honor the Life of Joseph Jamros will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, February 21, 2013 at the Minnesota Veterans Home, Silver Bay. Memorials are preferred to Minnesota Veterans Home in Silver Bay whom the family would like to thank for the wonderful care of Joseph.
Inurnment with Military Honors will be held at a later date in the Florida National Cemetery.
