Joyce Esther Augusta Newbloom, 84, Moose Lake, passed away on Monday, September 23, 2024 in her home with her family by her side.  Joyce was born in Moose Lake on April 20, 1940 to Richard and Esther Nelson.  Joyce started her career as a switch board operator in Moose Lake and later worked at the Moose Lake State Hospital before finishing her career at the Sandstone Hospital, retiring in 2008.  Joyce married Thomas Newbloom on August 17, 1957 in Moose Lake where they made their home with their four children.  Joyce loved working in the yard and driving around town.  Her most prized possession in life was her family.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband: Tom Newbloom; parents: Richard and Esther Nelson;  Brothers: Kenny and Leroy Nelson; and sister: Janice Carlson.

Joyce will be lovingly remembered by her four children: Brad (Bonnie) Newbloom of Mounds View; Shelly (Dale) Kolosky of Arizona; Connie (David) Sylvester of Hastings; and Wendy Newbloom of Moose Lake; seven grandchildren: Zach (Cassie) Juntunen; Jenna (Ty) Storlie; Tyler Sylvester;  Courtney Newbloom; McCall Newbloom; Lindsey Kolosky; and Kasey Kolosky; six great grandchildren: Aria, Abram, and Asher Juntunen; Dempsey, Luca, and Palmer Storlie; sister: Judy Skelton; Brother: Rodger Nelson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Essentia Health Hospice for the wonderful care they provided Joyce and to Sonja Roach for her continued care through the years.

At Joyce's request, there will be no services.
