Obituary

Joyce Helen Paulson, 74 of Blackhoof Township, died Saturday, November 13, 2010 at The Lighthouse of Cloquet. She was born June 27, 1936 in Benson to John and Zula Helen (Lewis) Urback. Joyce moved to Barnum as a child and attended Central School until the 8th grade. She then attended Barnum High School, graduating in 1954. Joyce was united in marriage to George "Sonny" Paulson, Jr. on July 24, 1954 in Barnum. They live for a short time in West Duluth before moving to Blackhoof Township. Joyce worked for Carpenter Paper Company in Duluth for 2 years. Joyce later worked as a Bookkeeper for Sonny's Service Oil which she owned and operated with her husband from 1965-1996. Joyce was very active at Sandy Lake Baptist Church where she was Church Secretary, Treasurer and Sunday School Teacher. Joyce enjoyed knitting and cooking.

Joyce is preceded in death by her husband, George "Sonny" Paulson, Jr.and her parents.

Joyce is survived by 3 children, Bruce (Cheri) Paulson of Eagan, Pamela (Paul) Norman of Eagan and Shelby Paulson of Eveleth; 6 grandchildren, Aaron Paulson, Kirsten Paulson, Darrin Stojevich, Matthew Stojevich, Sarah Norman and Molly Norman; 2 great grandchildren, Hailey and Madison Stojevich; 2 brothers, Roland (Marilynn) Urback and Leonard (Marlene) Urback.

Visitation was Friday, November 19, from 5- 7 PM in Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake and continued on Saturday, November 20, from 1 PM until the 2 PM Service in Sandy Lake Baptist Church, Blackhoof Township.
