Judy Ann Harju, 75, Moose Lake, died Sunday, March 12, 2023 in Essentia-Moose Lake.

She was born on October 8, 1947 in Moose Lake to Ernest and June Sarvela.  Judy was a lifelong resident of the Barnum, Kettle River, and Moose Lake areas.  She graduated from Moose Lake High School in 1965 and was married to Roger Harju to whom 6 children were born to this union.  Judy was a homemaker through the years.  In 1980, she began working at Mercy Hospital in the laundry department where she attained a supervisor position. Judy spent several years with her life partner, Jack Mattson.  She loved family gatherings, garage sales, gardening, antiquing, being outside, reading books, word finds, cards, and sports; especially the Timberwolves, Twins and Chiefs.  She was a wonderful mother and a great friend whom loved to visit over a cup of coffee.

She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Melanie; life partner: Jack Mattson; and siblings: Floyd Sarvela and Roger Sarvela.

Judy will be lovingly remembered by her 5 children: Lance (Candy) Harju, Lee (Kristin) Harju, Lyle (Lavita) Harju, Michelle (John) Graham, and Michael Harju; 8 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be from Noon until 1 pm service on Monday, March 20, 2023 in Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake.  The family would like to thank the caregivers at Moose Lake Village (Oakview) for the wonderful care they gave to Judy!  Spring inurnment will be in Holy Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Kettle River.
