Judy Ann Johnson
Judy Ann Johnson, 56, Sturgeon Lake, entered eternal rest on Sunday, February 15, 2009 in St. Mary's Medical Center, Duluth. She was born on January 11, 1953 in Virginia to Brime and Blanche Bailey. Judy graduated from Floodwood High School. She lived in the Moose Lake area and worked at the Treat Shop in Moose Lake. On May 31, 1980, Judy married Leland Johnson. They lived in Birch Creek Township where they farmed and Judy was a homemaker through the years. She also worked at General Andrews Nursery and Wyndtree Restaurant. Judy was a member of Faith Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School, Bible School and was a member of the LCW and Altar Guild. She loved gardening, crafts, and doing puzzles. Family was very important to Judy and she devoted a lot her time to her family.
Judy is preceded in death by her parents: Brime and Blanche Bailey.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 28 years, Leland; two daughters: Melissa Johnson of Sturgeon Lake and Kimberly Johnson of Illinois; her Granddaughter: Sonia Paige Schaefer; two brothers: Mark (Julie) Bailey of McGregor and Mike Bailey of Moose Lake; two sisters: Carolyn (Tim, Sr.) Rock of Willow River and Barb Blume of Grantsburg; and numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, and extended family.
Visitation was from 6-8 PM Wednesday in Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home and continue from 10 AM until the 11 AM services Thursday, February 19, 2009 in Faith Lutheran Church, Sturgeon Lake. Pastor Paul Reiff did officiate. Bev Peterson and Diane Jacobson did provide the music. Casket Bearers were Mark Bailey, Jr., Matthew Bailey, Randy Bailey, Chad Bailey, Bill Blume, Jr., Joe Blume, Tom Rock, and Tim Rock, Jr. Burial was held in Faith Lutheran Cemetery, Birch Creek Township.
