Karen Mae Erickson, 73, of Moose Lake, formerly of South St. Paul, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2016 in Essentia St. Mary's Medical Center, Duluth. She was born June 20 1942 in St. Paul to William and Delores (Brandt) Rogers. Karen was united in marriage to Paul Schmidt, Jr. on July 2, 1960 in South St. Paul. Paul passed away on April 5, 2001. Karen was united in marriage to her second husband, Duane "Dan" Erickson on July 27, 2003 in Moose Lake. Karen enjoyed traveling with her husband, boating, camping, going to the casino and especially spending time with her grandkids.

Karen is preceded in death by her first husband, Paul Schmidt, Jr; father, William Rogers.

Karen is survived by her husband, Duane "Dan" Erickson of Moose Lake; mother, Delores Rogers; children, Cheryl (Tad) Masloski, Diane (Richard) Willett, Tammy (Paul) Steele, Kelly Huff, Daniel (Cheryl) Erickson, Buzz (Candy) Erickson and Andy (Tina) Erickson; daughter-in-law, Diane Erickson; 19 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 1 brother, Melvin (Pam) Rogers; 1 sister, Corinne (Chuck) Osborn; several nieces and nephews.

A gathering of family and friends will be Wednesday, March 23, from 10 AM until the 11 AM Memorial Service in Hope Lutheran Church, Moose Lake. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
