Karl "Skip" Selix, 62, Sturgeon Lake, formerly of Barnum, died peacefully on Thursday, September 30, 2021 in Essentia-Miller Dwan, Duluth while he had the loving support of his family by his side.  He was born on January 21, 1959 in Okinawa, Japan to Lyle and June Selix.  Skip's dad was in the Army and the family lived in Texas, Kansas, and Ethiopia until moving back home to Wheaton, IL in 1968.  Skip graduated from Wheaton Central High School in 1977.  After high school, Skip went into plumbers apprenticeship and became a journeyman plumber.  In 1986, he married Terri and to this union three children were born.  In 1987, Skip moved to Minnesota.  He began a 30-year career in truck driving retiring in May 2021.  He lived in Duluth and later Barnum while raising his kids whom he loved dearly.  Skip loved golf, Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs, NASCAR, classis rock, karaoke, and most of all spending time with his kids.  Skip will be remembered for his great sense of humor, sharing his wisdom, and being a great listener.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Lyle and June.

Skip will be lovingly remembered by his three children: Callan (Christopher) Smith, Cody (Miah Thorpe) Selix, and Colton (Haley Caldwell) Selix; two sisters: Beth Tomas and Karen (Brian) Pearl; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins including a very special cousin: Nancy Hawkins.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be from 1 pm until the 3 pm Celebration of Life on Friday, October 8, 2021 in Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake.
