Katherine Schuett, 68, Giese, died peacefully on Saturday, August 24, 2019 in Golden Horizons Assisted Living, Sandstone.  She was born on May 28, 1951 in Mobridge, SD to Lyman and Ruth Schatz.  Katherine moved to Minneapolis as an infant with her family and later lived in Bloomington, South Minneapolis, Richfield, and St. Louis Park.  She later moved to Phoenix, AZ where she worked as an aide at a hospital.  In the 1980's, Katherine moved to Rutledge.  She loved her '72 Cuda.  Katherine worked at Luoma's, Sandstone Nursing Home, Bob's Old Fashioned Inn, and the Crow's Nest.  She also had worked at Tobie's for over 28 years from 1984-2012.  On April 7, 1989, Katherine married Mark Schuett in Pine City.  They made their home in Giese and were members at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Giese.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mark; parents, Lyman and Ruth; and brother, Les Schatz.

Katherine will be lovingly remembered by her three children: Kam Silva; Nicole (Nate) Sickler, and Robert "Bobby" (Natalie) Silva; two sisters: Pat Herdegen and Terrie (Marilyn Dinger) Schatz; brother: Mike (Teo) Schatz; 7 grandchildren: Logan, Sammy, Levi, Ellie, Madison, Mackenzie, and Emma; and sisters-in-law: Susan Molloy; nieces: Dawn Smith and Sarah Schatz; nephews: Doug Schatz and Justin Herdegen; as well as many friends and neighbors.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 10 am in Immanuel Lutheran Church, Giese.  Private inurnment will take place in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Giese.
