Kathleen Marie Brown, 65, of Barnum, died Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at her home. She was born November 1, 1946 in St. Paul to Erland "Cap" and Louise (Hammitt) Swanson. Kathleen was united in marriage to James Brown on September 11, 1970 in Minneapolis. Kathleen was employed at Diamond Match of Cloquet for over 20 years until retiring in 2009. She also taught Sunday School. Kathleen enjoyed sewing and all crafts.

Kathleen is preceded in death by her father; son, Keegan.

Kathleen is survived by her husband, James of Barnum; mother, Louise Swanson of Barnum; children, Marcella (Som) Vaiphei of St. Paul, Bradley (Amanda) Brown of Barnum, Crystal Brown of St. Paul and Wesley (Tresta) Brown of Barnum; grandchildren, Katelyn, Jakob, Jerrick and Bryan; 2 brothers, Larry Swanson of Barnum and Clifford (Renee) Swanson of Barnum; 1 sister, Sherry (Glenn) Johnston of Excelsior; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was on Monday, November 28, 2011, from 10 AM until the 11 AM Service in Cloquet Gospel Tabernacle, Cloquet. Inurnment will be in Sandy Lake Cemetery, Blackhoof Township at a later date.
