Kathleen "Bunnie" Gay, 81, Moose Lake, died Monday, December 9, 2019 in Essentia-St. Mary's Medical Center, Duluth.  She was born on April 18, 1938 in Petoskey, Michigan to Basil and Francis Waugh.  Bunnie grew up in Michigan and Florida.  She later worked as a secretary to the Secretary of the Navy at the Pentagon and it was during this time that she met Kenneth "KC" Gay whom was serving in the Army.  They were married in 1958 in Chevy Chase, MD.  KC and Bunnie returned to Minnesota shortly after they were married and lived in St. Paul and in 1967 moved to Moose Lake where they raised their family.  After KC's retirement, they moved to Destin, FL until health concerns brought them back home to family.  Bunnie was a homemaker through the years and an excellent Mom.  She was a very gifted knitter whom was able to recreate items she saw in stores as well as mittens, sweaters, and huge Christmas stockings.  Bunnie loved her grandchildren, playing cards with friends, and vacationing with family and friends.

Bunnie was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth "KC" Gay on February 1, 2019; 3 brothers and 3 sisters.

She will be lovingly remembered by her four children: Scott (Michelle), Mike (Monica), Jennifer (Guy), and Jim (Kristi); along with 8 grandchildren: Samuel, Nathan (Samantha), Amanda (Blake), Joseph, Kendra, Laura, Casey, and Nathan.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be from 2 pm until the 3 pm Memorial Service on Friday, December 27, 2019 in Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake.  Private family inurnment will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Church Columbarium in Niceville, FL.
