Kathy Kent, 70, Carlton, died unexpectedly on Sunday, May 8, 2022.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Kent in 2003 and her parents, Lee and Violet Heiskari.
Kathy is survived by her brother: Jerry (Carol) Haryu; three sisters: Linda Hughes, Carol (Jim) Telenko; and Donna (Rick) Edington; nieces and nephews: Tim (Roxanne) Haryu; Dave (Melissa) Hughes; Todd (Melanie) Haryu; Jon Hughes; Joe Warpula; Terri (Jan) Matavovsky; Jessica (Jason) Schultz; and Jennifer Hughes; her great nieces and nephews; and many cousins and friends plus her best friend and companion Paco.
Kathy was born in Moose Lake Minnesota on March 13, 1952. She attended elementary school in Kettle River and graduated from Moose Lake High School in 1970. Kathy went on to attend the secretarial program at Duluth Technical School and earned her diploma. Kathy went on to work at Menards Agri-Building in Carlton, where she met her husband Don. They were married on March 14, 1975 in Montego Bay Jamaica. They built their home in Atkinson/Carlton area. Kathy also worked for USG, ULF, Diamond Brand, and lastly Hagen's Paint and Glass until she retired.
Kathy loved the southwest look and it was reflected in her home and personal style. She loved her turquoise rings and aztec print fabric and colors. Kathy kept everyone grounded with her tough exterior, but was always there with her heart of gold when family or friends needed her. You could always count on Kathy.
A Gathering of Family and Friends to remember a life well lived will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2022 from 11 am until the 1 pm Celebration of Life in Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake. Lunch will follow the service at the Covenant Church Social Hall next to the funeral home. Following lunch, there will be an inurnment in Leonard Cemetery, Kettle River.
