KENNETH LEROY GOCKOWSKI

Kenneth Leroy Gockowski, 72, Sturgeon Lake, better known as "Gitch & Polack", was born in 1941 in Sturgeon Lake, MN. Ken died on Monday, June 16, 2014 after numerous heart related issues over the past several years.

While raising a family in Minneapolis, Ken was most always found at the helm of a wheel. He repaired parts to vehicles, restored old cars, and drove a Peterbilt independently for many years under various trucking firms. When he retired, Ken relocated back to Sturgeon Lake where he remained involved in the mechanics of old autos, tractors, or anything with an engine! He also raised Limousine cattle and was well-known on the auction circuit.
Ken was preceded in death by his father, Leonard Gockowski, Sr.
He leaves behind three beautiful daughters: Michelle, Cynthia, and Karen; three grandchildren: Nathan, Courtney, and Lucas; his mother: Eleanor; sisters: Marie, Diane, Leona, Luella, Sharon, and Gina; a brother: Leonard, Jr.; and many nieces and nephews

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 1 PM until the 2 PM memorial service on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 in Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake. Following the services, there will be a luncheon and fellowship with the family at St. Isidore's Catholic Hall in Sturgeon Lake.
