Obituary

Kristie Ann Erickson, aged 65, of Barnum, Minnesota, passed away unexpectedly on February 7, 2025, at Essentia Hospital in Duluth. She was born on November 5, 1959, in Cambridge, Minnesota.

Kristie pursued her education at the University of Minnesota, Mankato, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).  Kristie was joined in marriage to David Krier on November 5, 2010.

As a registered nurse she served 8 years in the Naval Reserve, 13 years to Sony's Residential Services, and 26 years to the Minnesota Department of Corrections, All of which she forged lasting friendships with her colleagues.  Kristie's compassionate nature and unwavering dedication to caring for others were hallmarks of her character.

Kristie was known for her infectious smile and her openness to friends, old and new. Even at the end of her life, she embraced the opportunity to help others by donating her organs.

Kristie is preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Clarice; her sister, Carol; and her beloved dog, Reggie. She is survived by her husband, David Krier; her sister, Connie (Al) Overland; her nieces, Angie and Katie, along with their families; and her step-children, Josef and Kellyanne.

A celebration of Kristie's life will take place at her home on May 3, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM in Barnum, Minnesota.

The Erickson family will hold a Memorial Service for Kristie on Sunday, June 29, 2025, with visitation at 1:00 PM, followed by the service at 2:00 PM at Hope Lutheran Church in Moose Lake, Minnesota.
