Larry D. DeRungs

Larry D. DeRungs, 60, Willmar, formerly of Willow River, died Saturday, March 5, 2011 in Willmar. He was born on August 21, 1950 in Moose Lake to Lawrence and Mary Ann DeRungs. Larry grew up in Willow River where he attended school. He was a Navy Veteran serving Vietnam. After the service, Larry returned to Willow River and worked construction through the years. He was a member of the American Legion. Larry enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was known for his story telling. Larry loved spending time with his kids and grandkids.

Larry was preceded in death by a daughter: Liza Marie; his parents: Lawrence and Mary Ann; and two brothers: Danny and Chuckie.

He will be lovingly remembered by his four children: Melanie; Larry Dean; Becky; and Luke; five grandchildren: Larry Jr., Tobey, Laura, Lexi, and Landan; seven siblings: Sharon, Nick, Mary Rose; Timmy; Terry; Bill, and Sandy; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation was from 10 AM until the 11 AM Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, March 10, 2011 in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Finlayson. Father Lourdes, SMA was the celebrant. Casket Bearers were Michael Mikrot, Zach Mikrot, Ronnie DeRungs, Andy DeRungs, John Mikrot, Jason Mikrot, and Jamie Mikrot. Honorary Bearers were Larry Joe DeRungs, Tobey DeRungs Randy DeRungs, Justin Guy, Danny DeRungs, and Jesse DeRungs. Spring Burial will be held in Lakeview Cemetery in the spring.
