Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother passed away peacefully on October 28, 2008 – just 4 days after her 81st birthday.  Lempi was born October 24, 1927 in Automba Township to John and Mary (Pikkarainen) Korpi.

Lempi was preceded in death by her parents; siblings Helen Olson, Elma Luoma, Martha Matalamaki, Mae Boulger, Irene Walli, Harold Korpi, Fritz Korpi and 3 brothers who died in infancy, Burton, Roy, and Walter Korpi; grandchildren Mark Thompson and Kendra Bakken and great-granddaughter Jamie Port.

Lempi is survived by her children Corby Jo (Lyle) Bakken, Michael (Rhonda) Thompson, Kim (Wendy) Thompson, and Jeanne Marie Gordon; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; brother, Gene Korpi; sister, Marge Herbst.

"For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither    angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future,     nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else    in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of     God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Rom. 8: 38,39
